Halal tourism conference postponed

In a recent development, the Halal Tourism Conference 2015 which was scheduled to take place in Turkey in December 2015 is now postponed. The event will take place in March 2016.
The sector is currently worth US$150 billion and the event will bring together global delegates to discuss and shape the agenda of one of the fastest growing sectors in the world.
Tasneem Mahmood from CM Media said: “Due to the sheer amount of ministerial attendance and high-level dignitaries we were expecting, we have decided to move the event to March. This is also due to requests from a number of Government offices.”
The new move will now see over 1,200 delegates from over 50 countries, including experts, international speakers, specialists and tourism suppliers. The previous event witnessed over 400 delegates in Spain.
A series of workshops will provide information on developing the industry including launch of new products, luxury travel, standardisation, finance and investment, Hajj and Umrah providers.
