Malaysia’s Sunway Hotels & Resorts has opened a new hotel in its Sunway Resort City complex near Kuala Lumpur.
The new Sunway Pyramid Hotel West welcomed its first guests on 19 February 2016, becoming the third Sunway property in the 324-hectare development, which also houses the Sunway Lagoon theme park and Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre.
The 26-storey hotel features 401 rooms, all with free Wi-Fi, USB ports and 42-inch Smart TVs. The hotel has five function rooms, a restaurant, fitness centre and outdoor swimming pool.
“The opening of the Sunway Pyramid Hotel West is strategic and timely; as it complements the diverse facilities, attractions and offerings already here in Sunway Resort City. Our expansion is a right fit to our business strategy of exploring growth opportunities in key emerging markets and segments,” said Albert Cheong, CEO of Sunway Hotels & Resorts.
The new hotel adjoins the Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall, which has recently been expanded. It joins the 468-room Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa and 549-room Sunway Pyramid Hotel East, expanding Sunway Resort City’s total inventory to 1,418 rooms, suites, duplexes and pool villas.
