The European ban imposed on Indonesian airlines has impacted foreign tourist arrivals in Central Sulawesi, the Association of Indonesian Tour and Travel Agencies (ASITA) was quoted saying by Jakarta Post.
Arrivals in the island region dropped 60% last year, down to just 1,000. Europe is the region’s main source of overseas visitors, and group bookings from Europe have dried up.
“There were practically no groups organised by tour and travel agencies,” an ASITA spokesman told the paper.
