Ryanair has held its first ever Santa flight in Romania, flying 150 children from Craiova to Bucharest, onboard a specially chartered Ryanair Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
The children are under the care of Dolj County’s Social Assistance and Child Protection Authority and it was the first time many of them had been on board a plane.
Romanian MEP Marian-Jean Marinescu accompanied the children and they also visited the Bucharest Christmas Market and the Antipa Museum, before meeting Santa Claus.
Denis Barabas, Sales & Marketing Romania, Ryanair, said:“Ryanair was delighted to offer these children the chance to take their first flight and meet Santa Claus. This was our first Santa flight in Romania and we are proud to partner with Dolj County’s Social Assistance and Child Protection Authority. We hope this experience has given the children some special memories and we wish all of our Romanian customers a very happy Christmas and peaceful 2017.”
Florin Stancu, Director of Dolj County Social Assistance and Child Protection Authority, said:“This partnership with Ryanair is a great opportunity for local children and we are very grateful to Ryanair for enabling 150 of our children to take to the skies for the first time. This trip was great fun and will make Christmas 2016 a very special one for them.”
