China’s top hotels and agencies

A new study has ranked China’s top 10 hotel companies and travel agencies.
Jin Jiang International Holdings topped the hotel chains list with US$668.4 million in sales last year. At 252, it also has the most number of properties, according to the study commissioned by TTG Asia media and compiled by Euromonitor International. Next is InterContinental Hotels Group followed by the Accor Group. Others in the top 10 are Shangri-La Hotels, Starwood Hotels, Marriott International, Jinling Hotels & Resorts, Conifer Hotels & Resorts Group, Orient Hotel Management and Gloria International Hotels Group.
Among travel agencies, Spring International Travel Service topped the list though the gap was narrow among the top players. It made US$1.45 billion in sales last year while second-placed China Travel Service Head Office raked in US$1.43 billion. China Comfort Travel Group was a close third with sales of US$1.33 billion. Other agencies in the top 10 are at China International Travel Service Head Office, Shanghai Dazhong Tourism Service Corp, Shanghai Airlines Tours International, Shanghai Railway International Travel Service, Shanghai Daily Travel Service, Shanghai Xinhua International Travel Service and China CYTS Tours Holding.
