The Sabah Tourism Board (STB) is moved into its new refurbished headquarters in Kota Kinabalu. Known as the ‘Old Post Office’, the historic, colonial era building is the city’s ‘Kilometre Zero’ site – the city centre location from which all distances to surrounding places are measured. The building, located on the city’s Gaya Street, was taken over by Sabah’s State Ministry of Tourism & Environmental Development in 1986 and became home to the STB in 1991. The renovated site is now expected to become a tourist attraction in its own right.
