Job Description
The job opening is with the Operations Research (OR) team within Sabre Airline Solutions. The operations research team is the nucleus which empowers several key products areas by supporting analytics, forecasting and optimization components. The product areas supported by the OR team include:
- Network planning and aircraft assignment
- Airline operation and capacity allocation
- Crew (including ground crew) planning and scheduling
- Customer analytics and Airline Retailing
- Revenue management
The OR team is looking for enthusiastic, motivated and driven individuals who will empower the OR team by:
- Exploring new technologies and methodologies to empower rapid prototyping and implementations of mathematical and analytical models developed by the OR team
- Build frameworks for enabling rapid models development and reporting/analysis and visualization for the Analysts in the OR team
- Enable Airlines using technology by implementing data mining/machining learning algorithms
- Supporting existing implementations by adding more functionality
Job Requirements:
- Master degree minimal (preferably in Industrial Engineering / Operations Research / Statistics / Comp Science), with good knowledge in Operations Research, Statistics and Data Mining. PhD preferred.
- 2-5 years of relevant work experience: building and solving LP/IP models, network flow, graph theory, column generation and large-scale optimization, statistical and/or machine learning models for real-world optimization or predictive modeling problems
- Familiarity with optimization solver (Ilog Cplex, etc.), data extraction and manipulation tools (R, SAS, etc.), knowledge of SQL
- Interest and aptitude in reading published literature from academia and industry on latest tools & techniques, as well as an ability to translate them into practice.
- Good programming skills (expertise in C++, Python, etc.) with experience using Visual Studio and Unix/Linux.
- Excellent communication skills in English (oral, reading and writing).
