Thai low-cost carrier, Nok Airlines, has said that it expects to wipe out its accumulated losses and break even or turn a profit by the end of this year. According to a Bangkok Post report, the airline, which is partly owned by Thai Airways, still has THB280 million (US$8.4 million) of outstanding losses that needs to clear, but expects to achieve a pre-tax profit of THB330 million for 2009.
“By the end of this year, we should be able to, at least, reach break-even if not declaring profit,” Nok’s CEO, Patee Sarasin, told the Bangkok Post.
