Mumbai to develop monorail

The Scomi Group of Malaysia and Larsen & Toubro Infotech Limited of India will develop a monorail network in Mumbai, Anil Mathur reports. The 20km system will connect Wadala and Chembur areas of the city. The project will be developed in two phases, with the first 9km stretch to completed by end of this year, and the remaining 11km being added by the end of 2011. The project is expected to cost INR24 billion (US$515 million).
