Thai celebrates 50th anniversary

Thai Airways International Public Company Limited celebrated its 50th Anniversary on Saturday (1 May) with a re-creation of its first historic flight from Bangkok to Hong Kong, and a religious ceremony, which included alms-giving to 51 monks from all over the country, Passengers travelling on THAI’s ‘nostalgic flight’ – TG606 from Bangkok to Hong Kong - experienced the airline as it was 50 years ago (1 May, 1960) with cabin crew dressed in original uniform, boarding passes designed as they were in 1960 and the Boeing 747-400 repainted in the original livery as seen on the DC-6B aircraft that flew that route. Passengers were also presented with a collection of THAI’s 50th Anniversary souvenirs
