Amadeus has disconnected Air Astana from its GDS services following a contract dispute. The Kazakhstan-based carrier said yesterday that it was seeking an injunction from courts in Spain to force Amadeus to reconnect its services while the dispute goes to arbitration. The previous distribution contract between Amadeus and Air Astana was cancelled after Amadeus alleged that Air Astana breached the terms of the agreement. Air Astana denies the allegation and has filed for arbitration. The airline assured customers that it has copies of all reservations made on the Amadeus GDS in its own reservations system, so Air Astana call centres could still track and change existing bookings.
