A Merpati Nusantara Airlines plane carrying 42 passengers was forced abort its take off from Kupang, in Indonesia’s East Nusa Tenggara province, on Saturday. The Flores-bound aircraft was preparing for take-off when it ground to a halt on the runway with engine problems, local news portal kompas.com reported. The incident occurred at El Tari Airport and delayed several subsequent flights. The breakdown marks the second such incident for the airline in a matter of days. Last week a Merpati plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Central Kalimantan, also suffering engine problems.
