Abacus International has signed a new agreement with Kazakhstan’s SCAT Air. Through the agreement, which takes effect in the fourth quarter of 2011, SCAT Air will provide Abacus-connected travel agents with access to the airline’s entire published inventory of flights and fares, including the web fares, without being subjected to any surcharge fees.
“As one of the largest, growing carriers in Kazakhstan, we seek a partner who has a sound presence and extensive network of travel agents throughout Central Asia as well as our destination markets,” said Vladimir Denissov, President of SCAT Air. “With a great deal of expertise and reach in this region, Abacus is an important distribution partner and this deal will further strengthen our position with its agents.”
SCAT Air currently flies to all major cities within Kazakhstan and international destinations such as Egypt, the UAE, Turkey, Mongolia and Russia.
“We are delighted to have signed an agreement that will guarantee full content to all Abacus users,” said Danny Kondic, Abacus’ Vice President of Channel Management. “We have worked hard with SCAT Air to come to a cost-effective agreement that will further entrench our business in Central Asia and Kazakhstan, a key market for our expansion.”
Abacus has recently signed a number of agreements in Central Asia with select carriers to provide full content for their travel agents.
“This deal affirms our leadership in Central Asia and the value of our distribution channel. I look forward to Abacus continuing to secure full content programmes across the region,” added Kondic.
