AccorHotels has opened a new hotel in Vietnam’s Bana Hills, 30 minutes’ drive from the city of Danang.
The new Mercure Bana Hills French Village sits 1,480 metres above sea level in an area once popular with French settlers wanting to escape the summer heat. Reflecting this history, the hotel’s design has been inspired by a 19th Century French village.
The resort area is accessible via a 5,800-metre-long cable car.
“Mercure Bana Hills French Village… overlooks the picturesque mountain views and diverse eco-landscape in the popular tourist destination,” said Patrick Basset, AccorHotels’ chief operating officer for Upper Southeast & Northeast Asia. “The property offers the perfect hideaway from the bustling city life and is the first AccorHotels’ property located on the mountains of central Vietnam.
“Golf enthusiasts can enjoy a game of golf at the brand new golf course at the mountain foothill. And, while riding in the cable car, guest can enjoy the views of unspoiled natural landscape with streams cascading down the hill that overlooks the coastlines,” he added.
The resort offers 494 European-style rooms and suites with mountain views, plus seven F&B outlets that include French and Vietnam restaurants. Other facilities include a fitness centre, spa, and an indoor pool.
The new resort becomes the fourth Mercure in Vietnam, following existing properties in Hanoi, Hoi An and Phu Quoc.
