Aer Lingus rejects Ryanair bid

Irish airline Aer Lingus has rejected a EUR750 million (US$1 billion) takeover bid from its rival Ryanair, the BBC has reported. Ryanair, which already owns 30% of Aer Lingus, launched its revised formal offer on Monday by asking shareholders, to accept the deal.
However Aer Lingus Chairman, Colm Barrington, dismissed the offer, saying that it contained “nothing new”.
