Cabin crew at Aer Lingus are to ballot for strike action that could affect Bank Holiday travellers. The airline has already held five months of talks and two separate ballots earlier this year when Impact cabin crew complained about longer working hours. Aer Lingus was confident a strike would not occur after crew initially voted 64% against the changes. “While we are at a loss to understand why another ballot is necessary, we strongly urge a 100% turnout for it,” the airline said. “We will even go so far as to allow this ballot to be held on paid company time.” It said it was ready for any outcome.
