In an effort to tap into the growing potential of the African continent, Thebe Reed Exhibitions announced the launch of the Africa Travel Week comprising ILTM Africa, IBTM Africa and WTM Africa. The event has received full support of the Western Cape Province and City of Cape Town.
The inaugural three in one travel event looks to fully engage alongside organisers to maximize the impact the region. The Africa Travel Week will be managed by the newly formed Thebe Reed Exhibitions in conjunction with Reed Exhibitions.
The inaugural event will be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) from 28 April – 3 May 2014. The event will encompass Africa’s inbound and outbound markets for general leisure travel, luxury tourism, and the MICE/business travel sector.
Citing the benefits of the event, Councillor Grant Pascoe, mayoral committee member for tourism, events and marketing, said: “Cape Town will have world leaders in luxury and business travel at the event. Through Africa Travel Week, we are actively looking to position the City as a holistic destination that is more than just tourism. Cape Town is open for conferencing, trade, business meetings, leisure travel and so much more.”
