Air China will introduce a new service connecting the central Chinese city of Wuhan with Chiang Mai in northern Thailand.
Launching on 10 December 2013, the twice-weekly flight will operate on Tuesdays and Fridays, using an Airbus A320 aircraft. Services will depart Wuhan’s Tianhe International Airport at 1930, arriving in Chiang Mai at 2200. The return leg will leave the Thai city at 2300, getting back into Hunan’s provincial capital at 0245 the next day.
The new service follows the recent launch of Air China’s services between Beijing and Chiang Mai, and will provide a further tourism boost for
Thailand, for which China is now the biggest visitor source market. Chiang Mai has become popular with Chinese tourists in recent years, following expanded air links and the release of the hit Chinese movie, ‘Lost in Thailand’.
