A new trade show based on the Alpine tourism market held its annual event last month. The three-day event, named theALPS, was attended by 500 delegates in Innsbruck, Austria and included tourism boards from France, Switzerland, Bavaria, the South Tirol, Trentino and Austria as well as tour operator Inghams and TUI. It was devised by various members of the Austria tourism industry. “Even if a premiere always shows potential for improvement, the echo from buyers and providers alike is overwhelming,” said Josef Margreiter, managing director of the Tirol Tourist Board. “This positive impetus must now be turned to good account in order to display theALPS as a central network format for the Alpine tourism industry in the years to come.”
