Austrian Airlines has unveiled new business and economy class cabins for its long-haul aircraft.
Effective immediately, the Vienna-based airline will offer a brand new flat-bed seat business class and a revamped economy class seat, plus new in-flight entertainment system in both cabins.
A total of 2,538 new seats have already been installed in four of Austrian’s Boeing 777 and six B767s. The business class cabin on both types of aircraft offer direct aisle access from all seats.
And Austrian said the cabin upgrade had already been well received by passengers. According to the airline, “customer satisfaction… has risen [a] substantial 31 percentage points among passengers on long-haul flights since the launch of the new cabin”.
“We are gratified by the enthusiasm shown by our customers. The significant rise in their satisfaction is proof that our investments of more than EUR90 million (US$120m) have paid off,” said Austrian’s chief commercial officer, Karsten Benz.
Austrian flies its B777s and B767s to a range of long-haul destinations, including Bangkok, Beijing, Delhi and New York.
