Best Western link targets Japan

Best Western International BWI has entered into an agreement with Kachikaihatsu Co. Ltd. to further its expansion plans in Japan. In a ceremony to mark the agreement Kachikaihatsu President, Yuji Abe (pictured left), and BWI Vice President for International Operations in Asia, Glenn de Souza (right) signed the deal at the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
For its initial projects with BWI, Kachikaihatsu is signing three hotels in Sapporo, Oita and Okinawa, adding a total of 500 rooms to the BWI portfolio in 2009. In total, BWI has 16 hotels in operations and development in Japan, and will have a nationwide inventory of 2,600 rooms by 2010.
