Best Western has signed its first hotel in Iraq in the city of Erbil. The new Best Western Premier hotel is intended to serve demand from the region’s oil and gas industries. Construction will start in September this year, with opening scheduled for Q1 2014. The 18-storey property will open with 160 rooms, but the design of the building is such that there is scope to add a further five stories and 48 rooms in a rooftop extension. Speaking exclusively to Travel Daily, the head of Golden Mountains Company’s Board of Directors, Eng.
