As reported previously by TDA earlier, Bharat Hotels in India has confirmed that it is terminating its franchise agreement with the InterContinental Hotel Group, Anil Mathur reports from India.
Jyotsana Suri, Bharat’s Chair and Managing Director, said in New Delhi that the chain is re-branding itself as ‘Lalit’, in memory of Lalit Suri, the company founder, who died in London few months ago.
Ms Suri, who now heads the company, has been involved with her late husband’s work closely, especially in their hotels’ design and interiors. Bharat Hotels has ambitious expansion plans, and at present has properties in locations including Delhi, Mumbai, Srinagar, and Khajuraho.
