British holidaymakers expect to be able to take a trip to the moon and take a train to the US by 2020, according to a new survey. A poll by www.sunshine.co.uk has found that 11 percent of Britons think moon tourism is possible by 2020, while 22 percent think space station resorts will be possible in nine years. In addition, 16 percent expect to see a rail link from the UK to US like the Channel Tunnel, with 91 percent of the 1, 926 respondents happy to use the service. Long submarine cruises were also cited as holiday potential and a third of participants were confident that hot air balloon flights could replace traditional aircraft. “It seems that some people just aren’t content with the holidays of today,” said Chris Brown, co-founder of sunshine.co.uk. “Some evidently quite like the idea of floating through space, as opposed to lounging by the pool or walking along a sunny beach. It’s interesting to see what some people think will be possible in the near future.”
