Cachet Hotel Group (CHG) has signed its second new Chinese hotel within a week, with the announcement of plans for its first property in Wuhan.
Just two days after the Hong Kong-based hotel group signed its first hotel in Hangzhou, CHG has now penned a contract for a new Cachet Boutique hotel in Wuhan, marking the company’s entry into central China.
Opening in 2017, the hotel will be located on River Avenue in central Wuhan. The 18-storey conversion hotel will feature 138 rooms, an art gallery, and the Drai’s Ultra Lounge, which follows CHG’s recent partnership with Las Vegas nightlife mogul Victor Drai. The lounge and bar will be located on the top floor of the hotel, overlooking the Yangtze River.
“We are… honoured to be able to play a role in transforming this hotel in an exciting new destination for the city,” said CHG’s head of business development, Kimy Chen. “It’s also exciting for us to expand our footprint into central China, bringing the Cachet sense of style and fun to a new market of travellers and Wuhan locals.”
Following this week’s developments, CHG now has a pipeline of hotels under development in Chengdu, Shanghai, Kunming, Hangzhou, Wuhan and Bangkok, covering its Cachet Deluxe, Cachet Boutique and URBN brands.
The company said it is “actively” seeking opportunities to expand its portfolio further “throughout Greater China, Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia and the United States”.
