Cebu Pacific (CEB) has renewed its partnership with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF-Philippines) which sees the organisations pair up to combat global climate change. The airline’s ‘Bright Skies for Every Juan’ programme takes passenger donations and helps villages close to Apo and the Tubbataha Reefs in the Philippines adapt to climate change. CEB’s website estimates the per passenger carbon footprint based on the distance of their flight, and guests can opt to donate an amount based on that estimate, to effectively offset his or her carbon emissions. The initiative was launched back in 2008, but its success has warranted an extension to 2014.
