Changi to lead the way

In 2006, Changi Airportoutperformed the global average of 5.9% traffic growth, recording8% growth with35 million passenger movements.
In recognition of their role in aiding thisgrowth, 21 airlines received awards under the categories of ‘Top 10 Airlines byPassenger Carriage’, ‘Top 10Airlines by Cargo Carriage’, ‘Top5 Airlines by PassengerCarriage Growth’ and ‘Top 5 Airlines by Cargo Carriage Growth’.
Amongst thewinners for top airline by passenger carriage were Cathay Pacific Airways,Emirates (TD 30 Apr), Garuda Indonesia, Jetstar Asia Airways,Malaysia Airlines, Qantas Airways, Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways and Tiger Airways.
The top five airlines that recorded the largest passenger growth included Air Seychelles, JetstarAsia Airways, QatarAirways, Tiger Airways and Transaero Airlines. TransportMinister Raymond Lim said that he was confident Changi Airport’sfigures will continue to increase in 2007 as a result of attractive airlineincentives.
