Chinese government officials took 45% fewer overseas trips in 2009, as an anti-corruption drive cut travel budgets. According to a Xinhua report, government and Communist Party officials went on 123,553 overseas trips in 33,507 groups on public funds, down 45.5% and 49%, respectively, from the average of the past three years.
