China outbound tours to top 50 million in 2010

China’s outbound tourism market is expected to exceed 51 million tours this year; a rise of 7% from 2009. This was the prediction made on Monday by Shao Qiwei, Director of China’s National Tourism Administration (NTA). Reported by Xinhua, Shao also said that inbound tourism was forecast at 132 million trips (+5% year-on-year), with 54.5 million of these being overnight stays (+7%). Domestic tourism was expected to rise 13% to 2.15 billion trips.
