China tourism revenues top CNY1 trillion

China’s tourism income increased 18% year-on-year to top CNY1 trillion (US$155 billion) in the first half of 2011, the country’s National Tourism Administration (NTA) said on Wednesday. Xinhua reported the state-run tourism body as saying that domestic tourists made 1.33 billion trips in January-June 2011 – 13% more than in H1 2010. International arrivals to China increased 1% to 66 million. The much talked about Chinese outbound market expanded 19% year-on-year to 32 million.
