Indonesia’s domestic airline, Citylink, has taken delivery of its 27th Airbus A320 as it looks to gain a dominant market share of the Indonesian domestic travel market.
“As part of Citilink’s Mega Leap programme, we will continue adding aircraft to our fleet until the number of planes in our armada reaches 50 by 2017,” Citilink president and CEO Arif Wibowo told press.
The latest delivery follows the arrival of another A320 in late July, and the carrier expects to bring the total fleet to 32 aircraft by the end of 2014.
Meanwhile, Citylink continues to increase flight frequency on various routes. The carrier upped frequency on the Jakarta–Batam route from three to four flights a day, as well as eight flights a day from the previous seven on the Jakarta–Surabaya route.
Citylink is also seeking authorisation to increase frequency on Yogyakarta–Pekanbaru, Malang–Bandung, Malang–Banjarmasin and Malang–Lombok routes.
