Costa Cruises in huge environmental investment

Costa Cruises has reported the investment ofEUR22 million (US$28.5 million) to improve the quality and sustainability ofits fleet. In the space of just three months, five Costa ships were dry-dockedto carry out scheduled maintenance, with improvements made to areas such asshipboard energy and fuel-saving measures. Devices are being installed toincrease the efficiency of the air conditioning system, while a specialecological silicone-based coating is being put on ship hulls to enhancehydrodynamic performance and reduce in fuel consumption.
