Cox & Kings has seen its passenger numbers to Africa increase 25% compared to last year. The tour operator’s tailor made section has seen a significant rise and now accounts for 55% of all its bookings to Africa.
As a result, Cox & Kings has increased the itineraries in its new Africa brochure for 2012. Louise Stanion, product manager at Cox & Kings said the move had followed growing confidence in the region and clients.
“People are feeling more confident about devising their own itineraries in Africa with input from our experts, and tend to have a greater knowledge of the destinations they want to visit,” explained Stanion. “Clients still want our recommendations and value our feedback and input but are increasingly venturing away from the traditional tourist trails to see lesser-known sights”.
Its Ethiopia group tour has become the bestseller, while holiday sales to South Africa have improved since the World Cup finished. Other popular destinations include Madagascar and Namibia.
