Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) has announced the worldwide launch of CWT Market, a free application for iPhone and Android mobile devices that aggregates travel apps and mobile web sites into a single mobile app. Users who download CWT Market can preview and add a selection of apps, most of them available free of charge, and be kept informed of new apps selected by CWT as they arrive on the market. Approximately 25 apps are included, providing services ranging from local taxi booking and restaurant reservations to a Wi-Fi locator.
Available in France since March 2011, the new global version of CWT Market is the first in a series of global mobile apps developed by CWT. A Blackberry version of CWT Market will be available soon.
“Delivering innovative solutions for managed corporate travel is a key priority for CWT,” said Douglas Anderson, President & CEO of CWT. “CWT is well positioned to improve the traveller’s experience with CWT Market, an initial step in delivering a broad range of applications and mobile services that CWT will release in the coming months.”
William El Kaim, CWT’s Technology Marketing Director, added; “Busy travellers want to have information at their fingertips but don’t necessarily have the time to seek out the latest applications. We’ve designed CWT Market to help travellers keep up with relevant, best-in-market services that can make their lives easier while on the road. Our app is part of a wider strategy to develop products and services for mobile devices to improve a traveller’s productivity, comfort and safety. Enhancements made in the coming months will be automatically added to CWT Market.”
