Brits can now get married on the beach in Cyprus after legislation was relaxed in the country.
Travel companies are now expected to see an increase in enquiries for weddings in the country following the announcement, which comes after a turbulent year.
“Cyprus is well and truly open for business and the recent reports about economic concerns have had little or no impact on the weddings market. The government, tourist board and private enterprise are working hard to ensure the well-deserved reputation that Cyprus enjoys…is not tainted and that Brits and other Europeans are confident to holiday – and get married of course – in this beautiful country,” said Andreas Palikiras, co-founder of Ionian Weddings.
“Ionian Weddings is delighted to see year-on-year growth in the weddings that we organise in Cyprus, and beach weddings can add another dimension to our portfolio,” he added.
The tour operator is expected to post a record year in bookings to Cyprus.
