Delta Air Lines has launched a new direct service connecting Seattle with Seoul.
Flights commenced on 2 June 2014 and will now operate daily, departing Seattle-Tacoma International Airport at 1225 and arriving at Seoul’s Incheon International Airport at 1535. The return service will then leave the Korean capital at 1720, getting back into Seattle at 1204.
All flights will operate using a 210-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft with 35 seats in business class, 32 seats in premium economy and 143 in economy class.
“Delta’s Seoul service is another key addition in our rapidly expanding international portfolio for corporate and leisure customers,” said Mike Medeiros, Delta’s vice president for Seattle. “The Seattle market is geographically positioned to optimally connect traffic to all of our Asia destinations, which are the leading commercial centres in the region.”
Delta is positioning Seattle as its ‘Asian Gateway’. The Seoul service becomes the fifth Asian route Delta offers from Seattle, following Beijing, Shanghai Pudong, Tokyo Narita and Tokyo Haneda.
Flights to Hong Kong will commence on 16 June, meaning that Delta will offer more international services from Seattle than all other carrier.
