Discover Egypt praises trade support in post-protest recovery

Discover Egypt has praised the travel trade for supporting for the country’s tourism as operations begin to return to normal. “The support that the trade has given Egypt is immense and with March being one of the peak month for travellers to Egypt, we are pleased to report that our forward bookings are looking healthy, showing the faith the trade has in the destination as a safe holiday option for their clients,” said Philip Breckner, director of Discover Egypt. The tour operator carried 150 passengers on its flights from Gatwick, Manchester and Heathrow to Luxor today, the first since the schedule suspension last month. “The good numbers on these first flights back into Luxor show the resilience of British holidaymakers and the popularity of Egypt as a destination.” Cox & Kings has also resumed its holidays to Egypt after it was confirmed that tourist attractions and museums.
