Dubai Chamber looks to strengthen Africa presence

In preparation for the 2nd Africa Global Business Forum (AGBF), the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry has intensified its preparations. The event is scheduled to be held on 1-2 October at Atlantis The Palm.
The eminent list of speakers includes President HE Armando Guebuza of Mozambique, president HE Paul Kagame of Rwanda, and HE Amama Mbabazi, Prime Minister of Uganda as well as Aliko Dangote, Africa’s richest man. Locally, the Emirati speakers will include HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and chief executive officer, Emirates Airline and Group, HE Reem Al Hashimy, UAE minister of state and managing director, Dubai Expo 2020, HE Sultan Al Mansouri, UAE minister of economy and HE Mohammed I Al Shaibani, executive director and CEO, Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD).
The forum will look to create a favourable environment for exploring new business partnerships and opportunities between Africa and Dubai.
HE Hamad Buamim, president & CEO, Dubai Chamber said: “The presence of prominent business leaders and decision-makers from Africa and Dubai will enrich the forum and serve as a fitting venue to inform African companies on how to utilise the emirate’s experience in stimulating economic renaissance in the African continent while enhancing the competitiveness of Dubai companies globally.
The event this year will be by invitation only and will bring together an exclusive audience of 500 top government ministers, officials and corporate decision-makers. With Dubai becoming a significant investor across Africa, AGBF will highlight advantages for African entrepreneurs to access global markets in Dubai while providing international investors a strategically important centre for their African operations.
