Egypt in Saudi tourism marketing drive

An Egyptian Tourist Authority delegation recently visited Jeddah in a bid to reassure Saudi Arabian tour operators that the country was back in business following the recent uprising which saw the overthrow of dictator Hosni Mubarak.Led by His Excellency, Egyptian Consul General Aly Al-Asheri, the delegation met travel and tours agencies’ representatives as well as media representatives.The initiative follows on from the recent launch of a marketing promotion by the Authority under the banner, ‘Egypt: where it all begins’, in KSA, UAE, Kuwait and Qatar. A recent field study by the Authority revealed that 90% of surveyed Arabs had visited Egypt at least once.
