Eight Carlson properties get Green Globe certification

SINGAPORE, December 8 2009 – Carlson Hotels Worldwide, one of the world’s leading hotel companies, has been recognised by premier worldwide certification label, Green Globe for environmental efforts at eight of its Asia Pacific properties. Focused on areas such as energy efficiency and minimising green house emissions, Green Globe provides an environmental management framework for organisations within the travel and tourism industry to achieve sustainability accreditation.
The group’s six hotels in China - Park Plaza Beijing Wangfujing, Radisson Hotel Pudong Century Park, Radisson Hotel Shanghai Hong Quan, Radisson Hotel Shanghai New World, Radisson Plaza Xing Guo Hotel Shanghai and The Regent Beijing achieved bronze certification as well as the Radisson on Flagstaff Gardens Melbourne in Australia. The 362-room Radisson Plaza Hotel Sydney, which recently clinched the Sustainable Operations Award at the prestigious Hotel Investment Conference Asia Pacific (HICAP) awards, was accredited with silver certification.
