Abu Dhabi will soon play host to Egypt Tourism Authority’ new GCC head quarters.
HE Khaled Ramy, the Egyptian minister of tourism recently unveiled the new ‘Masr Qariba’ campaign. The campaign – which means ‘Egypt is Close’ – is targeted at Arab audiences with an objective to bridge the distance between Arab countries and Egypt.
The new GCC headquarters in Abu Dhabi will be operational from July 2015 and is mandated to oversee activities in the Arabian Gulf, Lebanon and Jordan.
Previous campaigns launched by ETA have proved successful with significant increase in number of tourists visiting Egypt from UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The overall 2014 increase in tourists in comparison to 2013 was 74.2% additional visitors from the UAE; 68.6% additional visitors from KSA and approximately 48% from Kuwait.
HE Khaled Ramy further added: “We will continue to focus our efforts on the Arab markets, which are a key component of our strategic vision to increase number of tourists to 20 million in 2020.”
