Etihad Airways has opened its new First and Business Class Lounge at Sydney Airport.
The new facility, which becomes the airline’s first in lounge Australia, is located adjacent to Gate 51 in the international terminal and offers a range of facilities for premium passengers and frequent flyers.
“The opening of the new First and Business Class Lounge in Sydney is yet another milestone in our commitment to Australia,” said James Hogan, Etihad’s president & CEO, who attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
“It’s all about offering an experience in the lounge that not only sets the tone for but is also consistent with the flight experience ahead. I’m confident the wonderful team of hospitality professionals we have in our Sydney lounge, together with our check-in staff and guest service agents, will ensure we deliver on that promise.”
Covering 798m² over two levels, the new Sydney lounge offers a range of business amenities including Apple computers, free Wi-Fi, electrical sockets and USB ports, bathrooms with shower facilities, a children’s play room and prayer rooms. F&B options include a restaurant-style a la carte menu and a buffet, plus a full bar.
The new Sydney facility joins the airline’s network of airport lounges in Abu Dhabi, Dublin, Frankfurt, London Heathrow, Manchester, Paris and Washington DC. And Etihad is planning to open new lounges in Los Angeles, New York JFK and Melbourne over the next 12-18 months.
Along with its partner Virgin Australia, Etihad currently operates twice daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Sydney. And in June next year, the airline will deploy its brand new Airbus A380 on the route.
