Etihad Airways has announced that it will introduce chefs into its first class cabins later this year to separate its in-flight meals from a more traditional service. The airline is to appoint food and beverage managers and chefs to introduce a restaurant style service on its flights. “We know how important the in-flight dining experience is to our guests, which is why we have invested consistently in this area, benchmarking our food and beverage selection and service outside the airline industry,” said James Hogan, CEO of Etihad. The introduction of highly skilled chefs will enable us to make a dramatic shift in the way we serve our guests.” Chefs will also co-ordinate the lounge and flight menus throughout Etihad to offer a consistent service. “This innovation will also enable us to dedicate our highly esteemed Food and Beverage Managers to Pearl Business class, enabling us to offer an enhanced service in that cabin also,” added Hogan.
