The organizers will be recreating the atmosphere of previous Malaysia Cup football games complimented with the customary ‘concession stall runners’.
According to Patrick Lee, chairman of National Stadium Closure Committee, “these were the ones who will carry the small boxes with ‘kopi’ and shouts ‘Drinks! Kopi-o! Curry puff!’
The agenda for the day also include a friendly football game between Singapore and the Australian Socceroos.
Big football fans will get a chance to watch Australian football stars Harry Kewell and Mark Viduka play in the match.
There will also be performances by the multi-talented Singaporean singer Kit Chan that has gone from singing jingles to a huge pop career, and a parade of local athletes.
Then if that’s not enough to entice visitors to join in the celebration, there will also be huge all night dance party with Zouk’s DJs.
Tickets to attend are already on sale.
And for those that want a souvenir of this historical event, there’s a commemorative mug that you can purchase which is bragged to have ‘several features - it a has tea strainer with a cover, but what’s important is the colour changing quality’.
You have to get one and see for yourself.
