Fly to the World Cup with the Qantas Socceroos

MELBOURNE, 2 March 2010: Qantas today announced Qantas Socceroos fans could book seats on a dedicated delivery flight carrying the team to the FIFA World Cup.
Qantas will fly the Qantas Socceroos on its specially painted Boeing 747 on QF163 from Melbourne to Johannesburg on 26 May 2010.
Qantas Chief Executive Officer, Mr Alan Joyce, said Qantas Socceroos fans would be able to purchase seats in the First, Premium Economy and Economy cabins.
“Qantas is proud to carry the Qantas Socceroos to South Africa and pleased to be able to offer Qantas customers the opportunity to fly to South Africa onboard the same flight,” Mr Joyce said.
“Qantas Frequent Flyers were given an opportunity to purchase tickets last week, and we are now pleased to promote the flight to the general public.
“As a special celebration of the event, all passengers will also enjoy an exclusive supporter pack which will include a limited edition Qantas Socceroos Nike jersey.”
In the lead up to the farewell flight, Qantas will prepare its specially painted Qantas Socceroos B747, currently flying around the world with its message of support Qantas Socceroos - We’re With You All The Way, to ensure the team arrive team arrive in South Africa rested and ready to take on their opponents.”

Qantas operates six flights per week between Sydney and Johannesburg and daily codeshare flights between Perth and Johannesburg.
