Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has introduced a ‘no fuel surcharge guarantee’ on its cruises departing from 1 January. The cruise line has pledged not to increase the fee on bookings up to 31 August 2011. It currently charges an additional fee worth 5.5 percent of the cruise booked after discounts. “As we plan ahead for the 2012/13 cruise programme, we hope that this ‘No Fuel Surcharge Guarantee’ will provide reassurance to guests booking 2012/13 cruises up to 31st August 2011 that their fare is protected from any future fuel increases,” said Nigel Lingard, marketing director of Fred. Olsen. He hopes the move will encourage forward bookings.
