Garuda Indonesia has announced the signing of a contract for two CAE 7000 Series Level D full-flight simulators (FFS) with CAE TroposTM-6000 visual systems. The new simulators will replicate the existing Airbus A330 and Boeing 737NG aircraft models, and will be ready for training by the end of this year.
President & CEO of Garuda, Emirsyah Satar said that the new simulators would train the pilots needed to operate the carrier’s expanding fleet.
“The partnership with CAE will help Garuda to fulfill the need for more pilot in time by providing them with new highest-quality training environment in its base in Jakarta,” Satar said.
“Garuda Indonesia has been aggressively expanding its network and services in recent years, and they require a growing number of pilots,” said Jeff Roberts, CAE’s Group President of Civil Simulation Products, Training and Services. “These new flight simulators will help them maintain pace with their growth plans by providing the highest-quality training environment.”
The airline is currently using a CAE-built FFSs for the Boeing 737 Classic configuration and MD-11, as well as a CAE Simfinity Integrated Procedures Trainer (IPT) for the Boeing 737NG and A330.
