GIBTM 2010 – The Gulf Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings Exhibition – taking place in Abu Dhabi at ADNEC from 29th to 31st March, has appointed The Vision Destination Management as the event’s official ground handler.

The Vision Destination Management, launched this year, is headed by Mr Ali Abu Monassar who has over 25 years experience in the sector and was responsible, whilst at Net Group, of overseeing the ground handling of GIBTM since its first edition in 2007.

Commenting on the appointment Graeme Barnett, GIBTM Exhibition Director said: “Delivering successful international events relies on the capabilities of a number of highly professional local stakeholders and partners. Throughout the planning and execution of the inaugural GIBTM, and following 3 editions, Mr Ali Abu Monassar and his son Mr Anwar Abu Monassar have provided wholehearted support both at a strategic and operational level. Their wide ranging individual experience and local knowledge, combined with an appreciation of and passion for the development of the regional and global Meetings industry has provided invaluable insight which we are truly grateful.

“The launch of The Vision Destination Management comes at an exciting time, as international meeting & incentive planners look increasingly at the UAE and the wider Gulf region as stimulating locations for their events.  Placing our business in the hands of the team behind The Vision secures the services of a highly reliable, customer focused and professional partner. We look forward to working with them.”

Mr Ali Zaid Abu Monassar, Chairman, The Vision Destination Management commented: “We are delighted to be appointed as the official ground handler for GIBTM 2010, which is such an important event for Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates and the Arab Gulf region as a whole. The meetings industry represents an important segment for our current and future strategies and we will spare no effort to deliver the highest services to meet the expectations of  GIBTM’s international buyers and visitors.”
