The Cambodian government has granted approval for a US$35 million luxury resort on two islands near the resort town of Sihanoukville, the Phnom Penh Post has reported. The Song Saa Resort is being constructed by Australian property developer Brocon, and will include 25 self-contained suites, three private villas, a spa, wine cellar and yoga retreat. Speaking of the government’s decision, Brocon’s Sales and Marketing Director Nick Chandler said; “This is the final stage of approval of the project. We now have unconditional possession of the islands.” The Song Saa Resort is expected to open in early 2010.
