Hot Air Ballooning comes to Maharashtra

Domestic and international travellers can now experience the thrill of a Hot Air Balloon in Maharashtra.
Sky Waltz along with the government of Maharashtra and Rainbow Riders has launched Hot Air Ballooning in Lonavala from 29 October 2013. Initially, the company will offer one balloon with a carrying capacity of eight passengers with a ride that last approximately one hour. Priced at INR12,000 per person, the whole experience lasts for approximately three hours from pick up to drop back. Flights will operate from November 2013 to mid April 2014.
Announcing the launch of Hot Air Ballooning in Mumbai, Chhagan Bhujbal, Minister of Tourism in Maharashtra said, “Increasing tourism footfalls across the country in the past decades has provided an impetus to not only the development but also the introduction of innovative & exciting tourism products. The Indian tourism industry is expanding exponentially and both, the state and national governments are looking to introduce and promote aero-sports/adventure tourism.”
Sangram Pawar, director of Rainbow Riders, the official franchise partners of Sky Waltz, catering to Maharashtra region said, “The government of Maharashtra is exploring and adding new dimensions to the area of tourism and highlighting more destinations on the map to boost tourism in the state.”
